Last month, I had the honor of being invited by the Centre for Family and Population Research at the National University of Singapore to speak at an expert meeting on the theme “AI-Powered Care Interventions and Support Systems for Older Persons with Limited Kin Availability.”
It was an incredibly stimulating experience to engage in in-depth discussions with experts from various Asian research institutions and audiences with a variety of expertises on the impact of shrinking family and kinship networks on care for older adults in the Asian context, and to explore potential responses to these challenges.
Despite the whirlwind schedule—a three-day trip with no overnight stay—the value and insights I gained far outweighed the exhaustion. Thank you so much, Prof. Bussarawan Puk Teerawichitchainan and Dr. Wenqian Xu for this opportunity. I sincerely hope this will lead to new collaborative endeavors in the near future.
